What Counts as New — and What Doesn’t
There are three things the industry calls a new slots site, and only one of them is what most players mean.
The first is a genuinely new operator brand. The third is a rebrand. An operator retires one name and relaunches under another, and every affiliate page in the country calls the result a new site. It isn’t. How to Check When a Site Actually Launched
We run this check for every entry in the tracker above, and it takes less time than reading a welcome offer’s small print.
Start with the site’s footer. Every UKGC-licensed operator must state its licence number and company name there, and that line is more current than anything else you’ll find. Take the licence number to the Gambling Commission’s public register and look at when it was granted, what it covers, and which other trading names sit on it. Ten brands on one licence tells you what you’re really signing up to. The footer matters twice over, because brands change hands — same name, same logo, different firm holding your money. The register has one blind spot worth knowing about. Domain lists lag. When a brand is days old, its web address sometimes hasn’t appeared against the licence yet — we hit exactly this checking Wombat Bingo the week it launched. The footer statement is the primary source in that window; the register catches up within a couple of weeks.
Be careful with app stores too. Search a brand name and you’ll often find unrelated apps from different developers trading on the same words. If an operator doesn’t publish an app, nothing in the store is theirs. The 10x Cap Changed What New Sites Can Offer
Since January 2026, no UK-licensed site can attach wagering of more than 10x to a bonus.
