Sun Bingo Review

Sun Bingo opened in 2007. The brand belongs to News Group Newspapers, parent of the print Sun, and runs on UKGC and Alderney licences. It started life on Gamesys’s network, then moved to Playtech’s Virtue Fusion in 2015 when Playtech took over as the exclusive supplier. It’s been there ever since.

By industry standards, that’s a long stretch. Sun Bingo has won the WhichBingo Best Playtech Bingo Site award nine times. In April 2024 it picked up the exclusive Britain’s Got Talent Bingo licence. Format-wise, the site runs the standard 75, 80 and 90-ball games plus Deal or No Deal Bingo, with the usual mix of slots, casino games and scratchcards on the side.

Editorial Position

We’re not currently recommending Sun Bingo to new players, and the reason is straightforward. In March 2026, Playtech’s CFO told the City that the brand isn’t expected to be profitable at the new 40% Remote Gaming Duty rate. A strategic review is now underway.

None of that affects current account holders today. The site is open and trading normally. The review itself is what’s worth tracking, and we’ve laid out what it likely means for players in our analysis of the wider 40% RGD impact. New players are better off elsewhere while this plays out. The three brands in the cards above (Mecca, PlayOJO, Betfred) are all UK-licensed and currently trading without anything hanging over them.

For anything current, sunbingo.co.uk is where to look. Things change. We won’t be tracking them here.
